Junior Data Engineer – Production & Supply Chain

As a Junior Data Engineer – Production & Supply Chain, you help transform operational data into reliable and actionable insights. You contribute to data products, data models, and data pipelines that support reporting, Power BI, machine learning, and AI applications.

Working with data from ERP, MES, WMS, and other operational systems, you learn how to structure, integrate, and make data accessible across the organization. Together with BI/RT Solution Partners, Data Scientists, IT teams, and business stakeholders, you help build solutions that improve decision-making across production, planning, inventory, logistics, and quality.

  • You support the design, development, testing, and documentation of ETL/ELT data pipelines that transform operational data into reliable datasets for BI, analytics, machine learning, and AI.
  • You contribute to the integration of data from production and supply chain systems such as ERP, MES, WMS, and other operational applications.
  • You help build data products and semantic models covering topics such as production performance, forecasting, inventory management, OTIF, planning, traceability, and logistics efficiency.
  • You perform data quality checks, investigate data issues, and contribute to maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring, and data lineage.
  • You learn and apply modern data engineering practices, including version control, testing, CI/CD, and DataOps.
  • You work in an agile environment alongside data analysts, data scientists, IT colleagues, and business stakeholders, gradually developing into a well-rounded data professional.

You report directly to the Data & Analytics Platform Architect.

  • You hold a Master's degree in IT, Data, Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have gained relevant experience through internships, academic projects, or an initial professional experience.
  • You have a solid foundation in SQL and Python and are eager to further develop your expertise in modern cloud data platforms such as Azure and Databricks.
  • You are interested in data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, lakehouse architectures, testing, and documentation. Experience with dbt or similar frameworks is considered a plus.
  • You are analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You enjoy understanding how business processes work and how high-quality data supports better decision-making.
  • You are comfortable using AI tools to work more efficiently, accelerate learning, and support innovative solutions.
  • You communicate fluently in English and enjoy collaborating with both technical teams and business stakeholders. Knowledge of Dutch a plus.
