INTERNATIONAL MARKETING MANAGER SWEET ON THE GO

Haaltert (Belgium)

Permanent contract

Some marketing roles are about campaigns. This one is about building the future of an entire international category — from the brand consumers love to the multi-million-euro production capacity that will fuel its growth.

At La Lorraine Bakery Group, our Sweet On The Go category — home of the "Donut Worry Be Happy" brand — is one of our most ambitious international growth platforms. We're looking for the person who will lead it: a commercially sharp, entrepreneurial marketeer who is just as comfortable pitching a brand activation as defending a strategic CAPEX business case in the boardroom.

Our Frozen business unit is the engine of the group — representing 90% of sales and leading global category strategy and innovation across all markets. This is where you come in.

This is not a pure marketing role. As International Marketing Manager SOTG, you own the category end-to-end — and a significant part of your impact will come from shaping and driving strategic CAPEX projects: the capacity investments that determine how far and how fast the category can grow.

Concretely, you will:

Shape the Future of the Category

  • Act as the category expert and define the 3–5 year international growth strategy for SOTG.
  • Build and champion the business cases behind major capacity investments (CAPEX) — working hand-in-hand with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to turn growth ambition into production reality.
  • Lead the disruptive innovation agenda linked directly to new capacity and expansion opportunities.

Own Innovation from Insight to Launch

  • Translate consumer, customer, and market insights into compelling innovation platforms.
  • Define and manage the international innovation pipeline in line with category and channel priorities.
  • Create launch toolkits and category growth stories that deliver real value for customers and consumers.

Lead the International Brand

  • Bring the renewed "Donut Worry Be Happy" positioning, purpose, and toolkit to life through impactful market activation.
  • Develop market-specific growth plans — including North America — while safeguarding global brand consistency.
  • Build scalable activation programs that grow both brand awareness and the category itself.

Steer with Data-Driven Business Acumen

  • Monitor category and market performance to spot growth opportunities and risks early.
  • Lead portfolio optimization: SKU rationalization, lifecycle management, and margin improvement.

Develop People and Influence Stakeholders

  • Coach and grow a Junior Marketeer and an NPD Manager.
  • Align senior stakeholders — from local sales teams to group leadership — around one shared category vision.
  • Build strong partnerships across markets and functions to deliver ambitious growth targets.

Most category roles stop at the brand plan. Here, your strategy directly shapes where LLBG invests its capital. You'll see your business cases turn into new production lines, your innovations hit shelves across 30+ countries, and your brand grow in markets from Europe to North America. Few roles offer this combination of creative brand building, hard commercial strategy, and tangible industrial impact.

  • Master's degree, preferably in marketing, economics, or management.
  • 6+ years in commercial roles (marketing, sales, trade marketing, category development).
  • Strong track record in FMCG, food, bakery, or consumer brands — business and brand management, innovation, and category growth.
  • Experience building business cases for investment or capacity decisions is a strong asset.
  • Experience in a global headquarters or international hub is an asset.
  • Experience in an impulse category (sweet snacking, energy drinks, ice cream…) is an asset.

Skills & Mindset

  • Strong business acumen: you speak the language of P&Ls and payback periods as fluently as brand purpose.
  • The ability to translate strategic vision into actionable projects — and to influence, align, and lead cross-functional teams across cultures.
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and results-driven, with genuine curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management is preferred.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • A real passion for food — bonus points if donuts make you happy.
  • Location: LLBG headquarters in Haaltert, Belgium (between Brussels and Ghent, near the E40 and a 5-minute walk from the train station).
  • Travel: ~25% international travel.
  • You report to the International Category Director Sweet Bakery and are part of the International Marketing team within BU Frozen.
  • You will join an international family business with a strong long-term vision where more than 5,700 enthusiastic colleagues go for it together and are driven by 5 strong values.
  • We invest in a happy working environment through various sport and team events.
  • You can literally taste our passion every day, through our fresh and innovative top products.
  • You help build a better world; sustainability is high on the agenda within our company.
  • You get the chance to grow and develop in a very dynamic environment. Our LLBG Academy supports you to become the best version of yourself.
  • An interesting financial package, complemented by 1 day home working, meal vouchers, hospitalisation insurance, group insurance, a car and 10 extra holidays on top of statutory leave.
  • You get the opportunity to roll up your sleeves yourself, take initiative and help make a difference.
