Group Project Manager Construction

Our International Engineering team is responsible for the investment projects - both Green Field and Expansion Projects of our existing plants - on an international level. The scope of the Investment projects are Buildings, Technics and Equipment; from the concept to the execution and hand-over to our local team after commissioning.

As International Project Manager Construction, you will lead the Building Projects, and you will be involved from the get-go.

Role

  • You search for suitable plots for new projects
  • You lead the study and/or purchase of building plots or buildings and you determine the parameters
  • Making conceptual preliminary designs, budget and timing elaborations
  • You look for and build partnerships with construction partners in new regions
  • After the pre-study is approved, you will hand over the project to the regional Project Manager, who will further follow-up on the project until the construction is finalized.
  • You will lead a team of Regional Project Managers, based in different locations in EU.
  • You will follow the progress of construction projects within BU Frozen and report on this to the Group Engineering Manager. In case of deviations, you will take all necessary actions in order to get back to the targets of the projects.
  • Next to this, you will follow-up on market evolutions in the construction world and bring interesting insights into the company that can be implemented for future projects. Sustainability is an important aspect and needs to be integrated within our projects.
  • You will be the owner of our Building Standards and you will make sure of its application through our projects. Based on your good understanding of alternative solutions in the building market, you will optimize our Standards going forward.

Profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in engineering (architectural engineering is a plus)
  • You have an experience of minimum 10 years in Construction Project Management in an international industrial/production environment
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in food industry is a plus
  • You are practical with a pragmatic approach
  • You have strong communication skills and you like to work in team
  • Empathy is an important value for you
  • You are resistant to stress, perseverant and result oriented
  • Knowledge of English is a must; Dutch or French is a plus
  • You are willing to travel frequently (25–50%)
